Born
in San Fernando (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in 1972, Martin Tognola has been
active in both the Spanish and the Argentinean markets. In Buenos Aires he
began to publish works in Clarín newspaper and then Viva, Noticias,
Playboy and Olé.
At the present time he resides in Barcelona. He usually publishes articles
of Opinion in the Newspaper of Catalunya.
He has done de CD cover “la imperfecció de la irrealitat”
(Xavi Maureta & Adam Kolker) edited by Frank Andrad Music and New Mood
Jazz.
He published weekly for a several years in the Dominical (Sunday’s magazine),
as well as the Shere Hite’s column "Sex in century XXI" both
of them at the El Periódico de Catalunya (Newspaper of Catalunya).
He has contributed to a wide range of media in Barcelona, including El Dominical;
El Periódico de Catalunya's Books supplement; Mujer21; Woman; Vanguardia
DOSSIER; Búho43 (CNR); Rockdelux; Nochemanía; Kult; Movin'bcn
and Clara.
He made also some books cover for the editorials: RBA; La Magrana and Columna.
In August of 2005 he exposed in the collective exhibition “Tinta y Tango”
(Ink and Tango) in the Palais de Glace of Buenos Aires, organizated by A.D.A
(Argentinean illustrators).
In 2003 he started to give storyboard classes in IDEP institut in the illustration
professional area. In September of this year he participated in “Paper
Chic”, fashion illustrator’s exhibition in the “Circulo
de Bellas Artes” of Madrid. Meanwhile exposed in “Palais de Glace”
of Buenos Aires with “Argentinean illustrators”.
Tognola was also commisioned by production company El Terrat to create caricatures
for A Pèl, a TV show broadcast by TV3 Catalunya. He has also worked
with Barcelona and Madrid firms SCACS; TBWA; Grey; Springer & Jacoby;
the Partner and Circulo Publicidad. Some of his costumers have been BMW, El
Corte Inglés, Mac Donalds, Winston, Jané. His customers in Buenos
Aires have been Lautreac Nasca, Diálogo, WBC Buenosayres, Achievers,
Exit gp, Bender Cine, Film Planet, Scorpio cine, Encuadre and Fileni &
Mendioroz studio.
